Technical note / RTL & design
RTL is a reading direction, not a mirror.
A small checklist for interfaces that feel considered in both Persian and English.
Start with meaning.
A bilingual interface needs more than right-aligned text. Navigation order, spacing and mixed-language content all deserve a deliberate decision. A back arrow is directional; a brand mark or a portrait usually is not.
Let the layout follow the content.
Logical CSS properties describe the start and end of a writing direction instead of hard-coding left and right. Build one component, then check it with real text in both languages.
.card {
padding-inline: 1.25rem;
border-inline-start: 2px solid currentColor;
text-align: start;
}Test the awkward little details.
Try a long email, a phone number with a plus sign and a narrow viewport. Isolate technical strings when needed, and review focus order as well as appearance. These ordinary details are where a polished interface earns trust.
