Technical note / Performance
Fast is something people should feel.
Loading, interaction and layout stability belong in the same performance conversation.
Look beyond the first screenshot.
Core Web Vitals cover loading, responsiveness and visual stability. A page can look ready while its controls still feel delayed, or load quickly and then jump as images arrive.
Make the ordinary path comfortable.
Reserve space for media, use an appropriately sized image and avoid loading secondary features before they are useful. A small, immediate acknowledgment of a click can also make a waiting state understandable.
Measure before claiming a win.
Compare the same user journey before and after a change. Keep device and network conditions in view, and distinguish a controlled test from real-user data. A performance score is evidence to investigate, not a substitute for the experience.
